Who We Are
Unprogrammed (silent) Quaker Meetings predominate among Quakers in Minnesota, although the majority of Quakers worldwide are evangelical. Many Quakers who have moved to Minnesota from other parts of the world, especially Africa, which has 40% of the world’s Quakers, attended various silent Meetings, but often drifted away, feeling that the unprogrammed worship and universalist theology did not meet their spiritual needs. In 2011 the Lord led Minneapolis Friends Meeting to bring these Friends together, and the International Friends Church was established.
What We Believe
We are a small, committed group of Christian Friends who come together to worship according to the principles of the Religious Society of Friends and the gospel spirit. We believe that in God’s eyes, we are all His children, that it is important not to allow worship of Him be bounded by racial or cultural limits and that in coming together with people from different backgrounds we are better able to serve God.
As Quakers, we believe that God is Love and communicates with whoever is willing. Different Quaker traditions follow different practices to prepare ourselves to hear Christ’s message. We practice an evangelical, Spirit-led worship.
